A Slick Photo Organization Tool

SlidePick is an Android app designed to make the arduous task of arranging and decluttering your pictures an enjoyable experience. Offering a unique, intuitive way of sorting through your images, SlidePick revolutionizes your photo management experience.

Getting Started with SlidePick

The sign-up process for SlidePick can feel slightly intrusive, requiring details such as your birthday and gender, with no option to use existing Facebook or Google+ data. However, once past this hurdle, you are greeted with a helpful tutorial that simplifies the app's workings and is always available for reference. Although the app's interface is a bit confusing at first with an unintuitively placed options shortcut and a seemingly cumbersome approach to its features, continued use makes navigation easier and smoother.

Sorting Process: Swipe to Organize

SlidePick introduces innovation into the photo organization process. You start by creating a new album, followed by the selection of albums on your device for the choice-based sorting process. The interactive sorting experience invites you to swipe right to add a photo to an album and swipe left to omit it, replicating the strategy popularized by Tinder, but this time for photo management. Instant delete and undo options are also available during the sorting process for any inadvertent errors.

Present Limitations

Regrettably, at the moment, SlidePick only accommodates local, on-device photo sorting and saving. Options to integrate with cloud storage for sorting or storing images are currently not provided, restricting the number of photos manageable via the app and requiring the pictures to be retained on the device. Social media sharing via the app is also restricted to Facebook, with Google+ and Twitter integration still in the works. This leaves substantial room for improvement when considering SlidePick's ability to interface with external platforms.

Ongoing Development

SlidePick exhibits signs of being a work in progress, with many of its promised features denoted as "Coming Soon." Meanwhile, existing features like "Cleaning Mode" and "Instant Camera" come across as redundant, as the former can be achieved while sorting and the latter replicates what device default cameras often do naturally.

Despite the evident limitations, SlidePick distinguishes itself as a fresh, user-friendly photo manager. This platform certainly shows potential, but development is essential in enhancing its user interface, broadening its cloud storage capabilities, and expanding its social media reach to improve the overall experience and functionality.
